were going to program this remote to the dishnetwork hopper. a customer came in and this remote she said was eating her batteries soi swapped her remotes and this one is not programmed to either the tv or the surroundsound. i had to program it to the hopper box. she will also have to do that with the newremote she takes back. so if your remote is not any of the dish features like the guide,or channel up or down that means it needs

release your sat button. so we press the satbutton right there and then it will go beep beep. well lets go ahead and un pair it. noremotes press the sat button it goes beep beep and there we are we are paired to thehopper. so now the features work on the this remote works the hopper features. now we wantto program this remote to take care of the volume button on the tv and to turn the tvon and off. we hit menu we go to settings right there, we go to remote manager tightthere, we go to tv code and lookup code. then we want to pick the brand which is sony. sothe major brands will be right here, if you have a off brand or so the most popular brandsare there and you will have to go alphabetical and it will bring up a expanded list of theoff brands. sony is a major brand so hit next
just wait and point the remote in that directionand then it comes to here and it has downloaded code 1 of 25 and it will tell you test yourremote to your tv so we just hit the volume button. so as you can see the volume worksand i am going to hit yes and i am not going to hit save yet because now i do not use thetv volume. i only use the surround sound volume, so if i hit the volume down here and i wantto select the aux which is going to be my surround sound. so i switch to aux i savethat and i go to aux code, and i hit that. now i am going to pick my auxiliary deviceand it is a sony surround sound. so i think its a audio amplifier , accessory, or receiver.its usually a receiver try all 3 look up code same thing. i am going to find sony and samething if it is not a popular brand it may
be in the list and hit next and its doing1 of 3 so i am going to try the volume here and it doesn't work so i am going to selectno and go to the next code, i do not think the surround sound is on , so now my surroundsound is on and so i will hit no and go to the next code. ya it was on. hit no it willgo to the next code , try the volume and if the surround sound volume works then it works.i think i messed that up i want a do over. i am going to go cancel then abandon themand i am going to go cancel, it takes you back one space cancel does and we will goback one space i am going to go to audio receiver , lookup code , find sony, next. so it isgoing threw the codes and i am trying the volume to see if the volume works on the surroundsound threw all of the codes. so try volume
and it doesn't work hit no. so try volumeand if you can see over here its working so i found the code and i hit yes and i am goingto save that and now i can do the volume and its going to do the volume on the surroundsound because i choose to do that as opposed to the tv and i can turn the tv on and offwith the little red button and the hopper turns off with the big red button. i can turnthe surround sound on and off by hitting the aux button and the big red button. so i turnthat back on then you always have to hit the sat button so that your operation your satellitesystem because if you hit the select button and the satellite button doesn't flash buttv or aux does your operating the tv or the surround sound and you do not want to be doingthat if you are looking to watch tv and pause
and record and change channels so we wantto make sure that that on is flashing. if nothing flashes you may have a low batterybut low battery would come up on the screen. so if we go back to this we can change itback from surround sound. if i wanted to change my setting back to the tv instead of the surroundsound, then i am going to hit menu, go to settings, go to remote manager, go to volume,and then switch it back to tv and save. so if i use the surround sound now just for moviesnow and then and i usually use the tv volume, see now my tv volume is working and my surroundsound is not but if i hit the aux button my surround sound you can see will now work theni have to hit the sat button. so i will put it back real quick and let you watch thatreal quick because i do not do the tv volume
i do the surround. so were back to the surroundsound being my volume control on the button. that is how you program the remote for thehopper and i hope it helped you out and if not you probably have a bad remote or maybea bad hopper there is something else going on if that didn't work. so get a new remoteand try it thanks and have a great day.
