or an oatmealor a peanut butter, this cookie recipehas it all in one. and now we're gonnaadd peanut butter. and this isa 12 ounce jar of peanut butter. and you can use your choice, you can use either creamyor peanut. i'm using creamy,though, today. so next we're gonna adda stick of butter... ...and i told you,this recipe has
some of it all in there. and you need to make sure thatyour butter is softened to room temperature,otherwise it would be way, way too hard for you or the kidsto mix this by hand. all right, so we've gotour butter mixed up in there real good, so the next thingwe're gonna add is our quick cookin' oats. now, this is not an instantand it's not the one that takes like30 minutes to cook,
this is your five minutequick cookin'. so we're just gonna dump thatin there and fold that in and you see how stiffthis is getting'. it's gonna bea real, real thick batter. y'all, i've gota confession to make, uh, that i forgotto add the vanilla, the saltand the baking soda. so i don't thinkit'll mess up the recipe so we're gonna quickly do that.
a half a teaspoon of vanilla, a half a teaspoon of salt,and 2 teaspoons of baking soda. nothin' like doin' a littlerecipe backwards, is it? [laughs] but it'll still work. but we had to make surewe got our soda in so they would rise up for us. all right,so now we're gonna add a half a cup of chocolate chips;you can use the semi-sweet,
the milk chocolate,any kind of chip you want. and we're gonna adda fourth of a cup of raisins... ...and then ginger and iare real excited now because we're fixin' to addmulti-colored chocolate candies. oh...ginger is justtoo stinkin' cute, isn't she? all right, now, we're gonnastir all these into our batter. now i'm gonna place theseby the rounded tablespoon onto a parchment linedcookie sheet. uh, you can use a sprayor anything that
you really wanna use, um,the important thing is, though, when we're droppin'our cookies, that we wanna make sure thatwe have them all the same size so thatyou won't have some gettin' done before the others. because you don't wanta cookie that's tiny and, and burned by the time the bigger ones on your sheetare done. now, our oven has beenpre-heated to 350 degrees
and you'll wanna make surethat you don't over bake these. we're gonna bake, um, this sheetabout 8 to 10 minutes. but you'll wannakeep an eye on it, like i said, and make sure youdon't over bake 'em. all right. and in the other oven,i've got a sheet ready... all right,we've got a batch ready here. ooh, don't those look good! they remind me of cookiesthat my grandmother paula
used to make. ooh, i can't waitto taste and, of course, you can't havecookies without milk, can you? it's my favorite time,kiddies, it's taste time. look at this cookie. umm, i love raisins. um, um, um um, um. they're so good, i promise your family and friendsare gonna love this one.
