select green beans try to get thin ones, becausethey'll cook a little bit quicker and i think they have a sweeter tasteto them, so all you need to do is simply trim off the end that comes fromthe stem and just drop it in your pot, and that's all you need to do. and again, all you need to do is trim offabout a quarter inch of the stem. now this is the end of the green bean. youdon't need to trim this side. just trim this part right here. okay, i haveall of the green beans here prepped, and i am just going to put them inmy pot right here. i'm going to drop it in right here, put the lid on, andcome back in about ten minutes,


and my green beans will be perfectly steamed. a lot of our cooking sets came with thesesteamers and you may have never tried using yours. they're typically a potwith an insert, so all you need to do is fill it three-quarters full of waterand you put the steamer in and put the lid on, and go ahead and turnit up to high, so the water will boil and the steam will cook the food. so if you've wondered why the outback steakhousegreen beans taste so incredible good, well, they do steam thembut they do add a lovely sweetened butter sauce, so we are going tomake that. we're going to take


some butter. we're going to melt it. we'regoing to add some brown sugar. i'm going to have to come back for my secretingredient, and my secret ingredient is maggi seasoning. so this issold typically in the oriental or asian section of your grocery store. thisis a very flavorful sauce. it's a lot like soy sauce. so if your store happensto have this, go ahead and pick this up. this goes great in gravies andsoups and stocks. this is a wonderful seasoning. okay, so if you don't happen to have the maggiseasoning available in your area, go ahead and use soy sauce. everybodyhas soy sauce, and it'll taste


just fine with soy sauce. i've melted abouta half a stick of butter. that's a quarter cup of butter in the microwave,and then i'm just going to add my brown sugar. just let that melt andcombine in there. then my garlic salt, then i'm going to addin my maggi seasoning, again, if you don't have this soy sauce works just aswell. i'm going to add about a teaspoon of this. okay, so my green beansyou can see, they're steaming away right here. i'm just going to go ahead,and add these to my bowl of seasoning. actually it's not hot. great, i'mgoing to just add these in. i'm glad that wasn't a gas stove.
