hi ! i'll tell you how to setup linksys routerwith the cable or dsl modem. you can setup any router using this process. it can be linksys wrt54g, wrt120n, wrt160n,e1000, e2000, e3000, e4200.. use this process to install any model of linksys router. i have a motorola modem which is connectedto my laptop.

plugged in the power cable to the router. so, on the router you will see 2 connections. the modem is connected to the internetor wan port of the router. and the computer is connected toport 3 on the router. you can connect the computer to anyone of the 4 ethernet lan ports of the router. you will see 4 lights on the router.power, wlan/wireless, internet and port 3. the modem is connected to the internet portcomputer is connected to port 3. this is how you can connect the routerbetween the modem and the computer. this the first stage of your linksys router setup
